About
Tenderwild is a certified-organic vegetable farm in Rockport, Maine, established in 2020 by Peter Alsop and Morgen Van Vorst. Our mission is to grow exceptional food, nurture a vibrant ecosystem, and bring people together through our farm store, gatherings, and events.
Ecological farming
Great produce starts with healthy soil. Certified Organic and Real Organic, we use minimal-tillage practices, natural mulches, and cover crops to grow vegetables of exceptional flavor and quality. Beyond our fields, we cultivate habitat for pollinators, songbirds, and other wildlife through native hedgerows and perennial plantings.
Celebrating Food, Community, and Place.
Food security
We believe good food should be accessible to everyone. Since the farm's founding, we've committed at least five percent of our harvest to addressing local food insecurity through our partnership with AIO Food and Energy Assistance. Every year we donate over 3,000 pounds of certified organic produce.
COMMUNITY
We believe farms can be places of gathering and connection. Through our farm store, concerts, workshops, talks, and seasonal gatherings, we seek to bring people together around good food, art, ideas, and land stewardship.
