Field Notes: Bay Chamber Jazz Ensemble

Regular price $25.00

August 21 at 7pm

Field Notes is a partnership between Tenderwild Farm and Bay Chamber Music School, featuring faculty musicians bringing their side projects and passions to life in a barn in Maine.

JAZZ ENSEMBLE

Bay Chamber’s faculty-led jazz ensemble brings together some of Midcoast Maine’s most accomplished improvisers. Keith Axelson on drums, Nathan Perkins on piano, Neal Yetman on guitar, Nate Martin on bass, Mike Whitehead on trumpet, and others move through standards and originals with the kind of ease that only comes from years of playing together, knowing each other’s instincts, pushing each other’s boundaries. An evening of jazz in a barn in Maine, with players who know what they’re doing.

BAY CHAMBER MUSIC SCHOOL & CONCERTS

Bay Chamber is a nationally-recognized, non-profit organization based in Camden, Maine that has been bringing world-class music to Midcoast Maine for over 60 years. They present year-round concerts — classical, jazz, and world music — featuring both internationally renowned artists and their own faculty. In 2010, they founded Bay Chamber Music School, which now serves over 350 students of all ages and abilities across 35 towns in Maine, taught by 23 professional faculty members. In 2024, after six decades in rented spaces, Bay Chamber opened a brand-new home at 5 Mountain Street in Camden — a state-of-the-art building with performance halls, recording studios, and classroom spaces designed to deepen their mission: to enrich lives through high-quality music and community engagement.
